The National Park Service (NPS) intends to provide financial assistance to the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers for the NCSHPO Tax Incentives Reviewer Training on the Rehabilitation and Conservation of Mid- to Late-20th Century Historic Buildings and Materials. The project aims to provide training opportunities for State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) staff who administer the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives Program. The training will focus on the rehabilitation and conservation of historic buildings and materials from the post-World War II period.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Providing technical preservation training for SHPO tax incentives reviewer program staff
• Facilitating attendance and participation in specialized technical preservation training for SHPO tax incentives review staff
• Reimbursing selected SHPO participant(s) for hotel lodging, transportation, and registration costs
• Providing technical preservation assistance and program support related to the review of Historic Preservation Certification Applications
The project will support the administration of the Historic Tax Credit program by the NPS and the SHPOs, and will expand the technical preservation assistance and project reviews provided by the SHPOs in support of the tax incentives program.
