SKILLED NURSING SERVICES

The Mount Vernon City School District is seeking proposals from licensed, qualified, and experienced individuals, firms, or agencies to provide skilled nursing services to the district. The selected proposer will be required to provide skilled nursing services on an as-needed basis, including medically fragile students who require skilled nursing services as prescribed by students' physicians or as provided for in an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan. The proposer must have the ability to furnish skilled nurses to the school district upon 24 hours' notice and must have the ability to provide skilled nursing services within one hour of school district contact in the event that the need arises. The district is seeking skilled nurses to deliver services on both a part-time and full-time basis. The key services to be provided include: • Skilled nursing services for students, including medically fragile students • Administration of medications, including intravenous and oral medications • Care, cleaning, and use of feeding tubes, tracheotomies, colostomy bag, and oxygen tanks • Assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting • Monitoring of vital signs and reporting of any changes to the school district The district requires the proposer to have at least three years of experience in providing skilled nursing services to school districts or similar organizations. The proposer must also provide proof of licenses and certifications, including a license to practice in the State of New York.
