Dining Hall 13kV Switch Replacement

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County is seeking a qualified electrical contractor to replace the existing 13 kV switch in the Dining Hall switch yard with a new gas‑filled switch supplied by the university. The scope includes removal of the old switch, installation of the new switch, provision of temporary power, new conduit and cable work, testing by a certified third‑party, and all associated coordination, permits, and safety compliance. The contractor must complete the work within 30 days and meet Maryland licensing, MBE goals, bonding, and insurance requirements. • Remove existing 13 kV switch and install university‑supplied gas‑filled switch • Provide temporary power (≥ 600 kW generator) and install new 500 MCM cable runs in RMC • Coordinate testing, grounding, and all NEC/NETA/IEEE compliance; submit lift plans and outage MOPs • Supply all labor, equipment, permits, insurance, and bonding; meet 20 % Maryland MBE subcontracting goal • Complete the project within 30 days of start, with mandatory site visit on 27 May 2026
