The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is seeking applications to implement a project that strengthens Uzbekistan’s anti-corruption framework and supports a more transparent, predictable, and competitive business environment. The project aims to improve opportunities for U.S. companies and other legitimate investors by supporting reforms that reduce corruption risks, strengthen accountability, and promote fair market conditions. Some expected areas of support include strengthening integrity systems in state-owned enterprises, improving public procurement transparency, enhancing corruption detection and enforcement mechanisms, and reducing barriers created by corrupt or anti-competitive practices in sectors important to economic growth.
• Strengthen institutional coordination and enforcement capacity among anti-corruption, law enforcement, prosecutorial, and oversight bodies.
• Improve corruption prevention mechanisms in high-risk sectors, including public procurement, state-owned enterprises, mining, and industry sectors.
• Support implementation of priority anti-corruption reforms to improve legal certainty and the business climate for investors, including U.S. companies.
