Special Counsel for Trademark and Intellectual Property Services

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the State University of New York (hereinafter referred to as “SUNY”) to solicit proposals from experienced and qualified vendors (hereafter referred to as “Bidders”) to retain Special Counsel to advise SUNY on legal matters related to intellectual property, including the registration and protection of SUNY trademarks and service marks. Special Counsel will report directly to SUNY’s Office of General Counsel (OGC). The activities of Special Counsel will involve working closely with representatives of OGC and, if directed to by OGC, may involve interaction with campus and System Administration senior level staff and external parties, including the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The results of this RFP will be used to award a five-year contract, with the option to renew for one additional five-year term, to the Bidder(s) determined to be most qualified.
