Description
Santa Clara County Office of Education is seeking qualified C‑11 licensed elevator contractors to modernize four hydraulic elevators at the Ridder Park campus in San Jose. The scope includes complete removal, refurbishment, and re‑commissioning of elevators, integration of new electrical, fire‑alarm, and fire‑suppression systems, provision of all required permits, submittals, testing, and final close‑out. Bids must be submitted sealed, with a minimum 10 % bid security, and the contractor must also furnish performance and payment bonds equal to 100 % of the contract price. The project will be executed in two phases, allowing only one elevator per building to be out of service at any time, with an overall schedule of approximately 500 days from notice to proceed.
• Modernize four hydraulic elevators (capacity 2,500 lb–4,000 lb, 115 ft/min) including power units, controllers, hydraulic components, doors, and interior finishes.
• Provide full electrical upgrades, grounding, raceways, lighting, and coordination of fire‑suppression work.
• Deliver comprehensive maintenance program (interim, one‑year warranty, and indefinite contractual maintenance) and comply with ASME A17.1, NFPA 70, Title 24, ADA, and local codes.
• Mandatory pre‑bid conference/site visit on March 4 2026; questions due March 11 2026; sealed‑bid deadline March 26 2026.
