Description
The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking participation in suppressor testing. The testing will be conducted in four phases, including examination and verification of manufacturer's certifications, comprehensive inspection of the suppressor, conditional testing, and sound propagation analysis. Bidders must provide three suppressors with quick mounting systems and all supporting documents required in Phase I. The suppressors will be tested for endurance, functional reliability, and sustained quality assurance.
• The testing will be conducted at the Texas Department of Public Safety Tactical Training Center – Firearms Training Unit.
• Bidders must provide a shooting team to conduct the Endurance and Accuracy Tests under the supervision of the Texas Department of Public Safety Range Master.
• The testing will include a sound quality matrix, where a panel of 10 informed test subjects will complete a sound quality analysis survey.
• The top performers will be identified in final documents along with a recommendation to be the primary suppressor.
• The Department Executive Staff will make all final decisions on purchasing and contracts.
