Description
The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard intends to award a sole-source contract to PH Tool for custom machining services. The requirement is for the immediate custom fabrication of a machine block to be used as a UT standard for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard UT Inspectors. The contractor must supply a machine block that meets the UT calibration standard. The delivery of the machined block is required by July 15, 2026, to avoid delays to schedules and to allow time for UT inspections.
• The contract is for a firm-fixed-price contract.
• The contract is under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 (Unusual and Compelling Urgency).
• The requirement is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold.
• The contractor must have the necessary assets, tooling, and measuring equipment to manufacture and inspect the UT standard.
