The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a qualified contractor to fully renovate the first‑floor kitchen of Building 5 at the Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System. The scope includes demolition, site work, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural improvements, installation of owner‑furnished equipment, and coordination with ongoing hospital construction while maintaining kitchen operations. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, supervision, safety, quality‑control personnel, and manage submittals, RFIs, and after‑hours work. The project must be completed within 550 calendar days from notice to proceed, with strict adherence to VA and OSHA regulations, background‑check badging, and controlled storage conditions for equipment.
• Demolition of existing walls, floors, ceilings, HVAC, and electrical systems per design drawings.
• Site work: fencing, excavation, grading, paving, utility protection.
• New architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical installations.
• Installation and on‑site storage of owner‑furnished kitchen equipment (50 % RH, 60‑70 °F).
• Phased construction to keep kitchen operational; night/weekend work required.
• Provide dedicated site superintendent, safety officer, and quality‑control manager.
