Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking qualified contractors to upgrade the existing chiller plant at its Northport medical facility. The work is split into two phases: Phase 1 must be completed and fully operational before Phase 2 can commence. A temporary chiller plant must be installed and kept in service throughout construction to maintain medical operations. The scope includes demolition of existing building components, construction of new structures, installation of mechanical systems, and final startup/acceptance of the new plant. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder under the terms of the solicitation.
• Upgrade and replace the current chiller plant at VA Northport.
• Perform demolition, site preparation, and new building construction.
• Install and commission new mechanical and HVAC equipment.
• Provide a temporary chiller system to keep the medical facility operational during construction.
• Complete Phase 1 before a notice to proceed with Phase 2.
