Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source contract with Steris Corporation for the acquisition of STERIS AMSCO 7053HP washer accessories and support services. The required services include 1st Year Preventive Care Connect, Prepare and Configure Capital Equipment, ConnectAssure Technology Annual Subscription, Total Care Connect, and Factory Installed Acu-Dose System for 7000HP Washer. The VA believes that Steris Corporation is the only authorized provider that can meet the agency's needs due to the unique and proprietary nature of the required services.
* The required services are proprietary and specifically designed for use with the Government's existing STERIS AMSCO equipment.
* The VA requires the OEM products and services to ensure compatibility, maintain equipment performance and reliability, and preserve manufacturer support.
* The use of non-OEM alternatives could adversely affect system functionality and operational readiness.
* Market research did not identify any alternative source capable of providing the required OEM products and services with equivalent compatibility and functionality.
