Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking quotes for Electrosurgical Units (ESUs) with Argon-Enhanced Coagulation systems. The systems should be able to perform precise tissue coagulation and devitalization across various medical centers, particularly in operating rooms, procedural suites, and endoscopy units. The contract will be awarded for a base period of 12 months with four 12-month option periods. Key characteristics of the systems include FDA clearance, a centralized color touchscreen user interface, compatibility with various instruments and probes, modular argon plasma capability, and advanced neutral electrode monitoring. • The system must be cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an electrosurgical generator with compatible argon-enhanced coagulation capability. • The system should provide a centralized color touchscreen user interface that allows the operator to select, monitor, and adjust various parameters. • The system must be compatible with a range of monopolar and bipolar instruments, as well as compatible argon probes/catheters and applicators. • The system should consist of modular argon plasma capability with adjustable gas flow rates and multiple APC waveforms for non-contact surface coagulation. • The system must have advanced neutral electrode monitoring that dynamically tracks patient impedance levels and return electrode contact/orientation. The evaluation criteria include design, performance, safety, and quality/construction/training. Offerors must demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements and provide a quote for all Contract Line-Item Numbers (CLINs) listed in the attachment.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate without more specific information about the quantities and prices of the Electrosurgical Units. However, considering the complexity and specialized nature of the equipment, the contract value could be substantial. Assuming an average cost of $50,000 to $100,000 per unit, and considering the base period of 12 months with four 12-month option periods, the total contract value could range from $500,000 to $5 million or more, depending on the number of units and options exercised. The actual budget will depend on various factors, including the offeror's pricing, the government's requirements, and the terms of the contract.
