DeSoto County FDEM HMGP Grant Funded Mills Building Generator Project

The DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners is seeking formal bids from qualified firms and/or individuals for the DeSoto County Mills Building Generator Project. The project involves the provision and installation of a backup emergency generator at the Mills Building Facility. The contractor will be required to adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) guidelines and applicable safety codes. The scope of work includes comprehensive work such as installing a backup emergency generator, foundation requirements, access and safety requirements, and testing and commissioning. Some key points to consider: • The generator must be capable of handling the electrical load for the facility during power outages, with a minimum capability of 12 hours of continuous operation. • The contractor must provide all materials, labor, equipment, and services necessary for the complete installation of the backup emergency generator. • The project has a total contract time of 135 calendar days, consisting of 120 calendar days to achieve substantial completion and an additional 15 calendar days to achieve final completion.
