Notice of Intent to Sole Source with Toptica Photonics for a Narrow-Linewidth, Frequency-Doubled 556 nm Laser System

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to procure a narrow-linewidth frequency-doubled 556 nm laser system on a sole source basis with Toptica Photonics. The system must have a narrow laser linewidth, high seed laser output power, phase-coherent single pass frequency-doubled fiber amplifier, and high-speed laser-narrowing electronics. The contractor shall deliver one system within 20 weeks after receipt of order, with a 1-year warranty. Interested firms are encouraged to respond to this notice by submitting documentation that demonstrates how the minimum requirements and technical specifications will be met. • The system must have a narrow laser linewidth (< 2 kHz Lorentzian) at 556 nm. • The system must have high seed laser output power (> 130 mW). • The system must have a phase-coherent, single pass frequency-doubled fiber amplifier. • The system must have high frequency-doubled fiber amplifier output power at 556 nm (> 1 W). • The system must have high-speed, laser-narrowing electronics.
