Notice of Intent to Award Camp Grayling GAAF Fire Services

The State of Michigan is seeking to procure fire services at Camp Grayling, Grayling Army Airfield, and surrounding properties. The City of Grayling-Fire Department is the intended source, but the State received a response from the Township of Frederic Fire Department. However, the Township of Frederic Fire Department was not considered a viable alternative due to its distance from the Grayling Army Airfield, which prevents it from meeting the minimum response times for aircraft rescue and firefighting. The award recommendation is made to the City of Grayling-Fire Department pending State Administrative Board approval. • The ITN was posted on SIGMA VSS on 12/15/2025 and closed on 1/6/2026. • The Township of Frederic Fire Department was the only bidder that submitted a proposal. • The Joint Evaluation Committee reviewed the response and determined that the Township of Frederic Fire Department was not a viable alternative. • The City of Grayling-Fire Department is the intended source and the award recommendation is made to them.
