Description

The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) is seeking information on technical capabilities, infrastructure, prior experience, and recommended approaches for the AI-enabled discovery of broad-spectrum small-molecule inhibitors for filoviruses. The goal is to identify organizations with capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI) for application in the discovery and advancement of broad-spectrum, small-molecule therapeutics targeting filoviruses. Respondents are requested to address BARDA's interest in the discovery and advancement of potent, safe, broad-spectrum, small-molecule inhibitors of filoviruses. Some key areas of interest include: • AI-driven design • In vitro verification of hits • Early preclinical proof-of-concept evaluation • Teaming arrangements or partnerships to address the full scope of capabilities • Experience and/or partnerships with small animal models and early preclinical development for viral pathogens • Approaches to model improvement/optimization and iterative design cycles.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific budget or funding amount. However, based on the scope of the project, which involves AI-enabled discovery and preclinical testing, the funding could potentially be in the range of $1 million to $10 million. This estimate is rough and based on the assumption that the project will require significant resources and funding to support the research and development activities. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the project, the number of respondents, and the level of funding available to BARDA.
