Description
The NASA/NSSC is seeking a supplier to design, manufacture, clean, test, and deliver a fully assembled ambient pressure build vaporizer to support liquid methane operations at NASA Stennis Space Center. The vaporizer will convert liquid methane to gaseous methane for use in facility test operations. The supplier shall meet the performance, material, and dimensional requirements outlined in the document. The completed unit shall be appropriately packaged and prepared for shipment.
Some key requirements include:
• Flow capacity: 27,000 SCFH minimum for an 8-hour operating period at sea level.
• Working fluid: Liquid methane.
• Outlet gas temperature: Minimum 10°F above saturated liquid temperature.
• Maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP): 600 psig.
• Normal operating pressure: 75 psig.
• Pressure drop: Less than 1 psi at full flow.
• Wetted materials: 304 stainless steel.
• Inlet connection: 1.5-inch ASME class 150 flange.
• Outlet connection: 4-inch ASME class 150 flange.
• Internal surface area: 60 sq. ft.
• External surface area: 2,940 sq. ft.
• Fin spacing: 9.25 inches center-to-center with 1.25-inch gap.
• Oxygen-service cleaning required in accordance with CP010102 Rev 5.
The supplier shall provide a warranty ensuring the equipment is free from defects in material and workmanship for a minimum of one year from installation or 18 months from shipment.
