Description
The Shelby County Board of Education is seeking a design‑build contractor to replace the existing synthetic‑turf field at Southwind High School. The contract includes full design (site layout, drainage, sub‑base engineering) and construction (clearing, grading, base preparation, installation of a new turf system, padding, infill, perimeter edging, ADA‑compliant access, and all required testing). The contractor must provide warranties, maintenance manuals, as‑built drawings, and staff training, and must meet Tennessee safety standards and ASTM F1292 impact‑attenuation requirements.
• Complete design‑build scope covering surveying, grading, drainage, base construction, turf supply & installation, and final close‑out documentation.
• Must supply all required insurance, a 5 % bid bond and a 100 % performance bond (contracts > $100 K).
• Project schedule: start early June 2026, complete by early September 2026 (13‑week window); $500 per day liquidated damages for late completion.
• Mandatory pre‑bid meeting on March 13 2026; questions due March 16 2026; bid submission deadline March 23 2026.
