EOD NexGen UBAs

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) is conducting a market survey for a closed-circuit underwater breathing apparatus (UBA) to meet Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Diving requirements. The UBA should have primary characteristics such as a closed-circuit, mixed-gas diving system, automatic control of partial pressure of oxygen, and magnetic signature requirements. The system should also be interoperable with other equipment and have a heads-up display for the diver. • The UBA should be capable of operating with both N2O2 (air) and HeO2 (88/12) diluents from depths 0 to 328 feet of seawater. • The system should have a resistive effort of not more than 2.41 KPa at 40 RMV and 62.5 RMV. • The UBA should be able to maintain the oxygen level within ± 0.15 atmospheres absolute (ATA) from the required set point. • The system should meet the magnetic signature requirements of STANAG 2897/Class A. • The UBA should be fully operational in extreme maritime environments, including water temperatures from 34°F to greater, and withstand operations in high-particulate water, zero-visibility conditions, and currents up to 1 knot.
