Description

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC Water) is seeking qualified vendors to supply Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) hardware—including meters, transmitters, lids, and related components—for its future‑state water‑reading system. This RFQu is a qualification‑only solicitation; pricing and contract terms will be negotiated after vendors are vetted. No add‑on sensors are accepted, and compatibility testing is not part of this qualification phase. All questions, registrations, and submissions must be completed through the OpenGov portal, with the final deadline on 11 December 2026. • Eligible products: AMI meters, transmitters, lids, and related metering hardware. • Excluded items: Add‑on sensors (e.g., flow or pressure add‑ons). • Submission method: Electronic only via OpenGov; no hard‑copy or email submissions. • No budget or quantity disclosed; qualification will determine subsequent award scope.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

No contract value is disclosed; however, typical municipal AMI rollouts involve procurement of hundreds to thousands of meters and associated hardware, often ranging from a few hundred thousand to several million dollars. Assuming a mid‑size deployment, a reasonable estimate for the qualification‑to‑award contract could be between $0.5 M and $2 M, depending on quantity, unit cost, and any ancillary services (e.g., logistics, training).
