Description
This project modernizes the below‑grade truck loading ramp (tunnel) at the Northeast Transfer Station to eliminate flooding during heavy rain. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and tools to raise barrier walls, re‑grade the site, re‑route and replace storm‑water drainage, and upgrade pump and control‑panel systems. The work is fully funded, scheduled to start early September 2026, and must be completed within roughly four months, with off‑hours restrictions for tunnel work.
• Elevate tunnel entrances and the north retaining wall to stop storm‑water ingress.
• Re‑pipe interior storm‑water drains into the leachate system, replace drain covers, and abandon unused drains.
• Replace transfer pumps, relocate the control panel, repair concrete, re‑grade surrounding areas, and install debris screens.
• Provide all required permits, insurance, bonding, and E‑Verify compliance; perform off‑hours construction as required.
