E-Rate Core Switch - Dark Fiber Project

The contract is for the purchase of network switches, optics, and optical cables for the dark fiber project. The recommended hardware is needed to connect the new dark fiber network and establish a foundation for more resiliency in the district's internet service. The contract begins from the date of award through October 31, 2023, and the district anticipates the recommended core switches and related optics life cycle to be 8-10 years. The key features of the contract include the purchase of two core switches to provide each school site with connectivity to both the Administration Building data center as well as ITSC backup data center. The contract also includes the purchase of optics and optical cables.
