Physical Therapy Services for Inmates

The contract is for physical therapy services at the Bergen County Jail, to be provided by Scerbo Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Institute, LLC. The services will include diagnosis and treatment of individuals with medical problems or other health-related conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities. The contract started on September 4, 2024, and ends on September 3, 2025. Key aspects of the contract include: • The provision of physical therapy services on-site at the Bergen County Jail • The use of treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability • The evaluation and diagnosis of movement dysfunction by physical therapists • The use of interventions such as therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy techniques, assistive and adaptive devices and equipment, and physical agents and electrotherapeutic modalities • The consultation and practice with other professionals, such as physicians, dentists, nurses, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists
