Description
This Invitation for Bids (IFB) calls for the demolition, new construction, and renovation of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) building and adjacent Facilities Annex at Longwood University, Farmville, VA. The work includes:
• Demolition of an existing 10,000 sf metal building and an 11,900 sf pole barn; construction of a new two‑story, ~17,900 sf metal‑frame administrative building; and full exterior and interior renovation of an existing ~24,600 sf warehouse (total programmed space ≈ 42,570 sf).
• Scope covers structural steel, concrete work, site grading, asphalt paving (light‑ and heavy‑duty), HVAC systems with a Tridium N4 BAS, electrical conduit, resilient base and luxury vinyl tile flooring, interior expansion joint covers, and various interior finish items (doors, windows, louvers, paint‑ready surfaces).
• The contract is limited to pre‑qualified contractors, requires Virginia prevailing‑wage compliance, a 5 % bid bond (for contracts > $500k), performance and labor‑material bonds, and a minimum 50 % Small‑Business (SWaM) participation. The schedule demands substantial completion within 548 calendar days after Notice to Proceed, followed by a 30‑day final‑completion period.
