Nelson Dam Removal Project -Phase I Intake and In-River Improvements - Materials: Boulders and Rocks per Specification

The City of Yakima is developing final design and construction documents for the Nelson Dam Removal Project. The project includes removal of Nelson Dam and construction of several new project elements to provide a more effective natural fish passage route, improve conveyance of low-frequency flood flow events, improve sediment continuity, and provide more reliable surface water delivery systems for four existing water purveyors. The contract was awarded to multiple vendors, including Granite Construction Company, HBQ Inc, and Herke Rock, based on the lowest responsive bids received from responsible bidders for each individual line item. • The project location is approximately 4 miles upstream of the confluence of the Naches River and the Yakima River in Yakima, Washington. • The contract term is from 7/1/21 to 4/1/23. • The contract includes two schedules: Schedule 1, which is a back-up option, and Schedule 2, which is the primary option. • The contract includes various line items for different types of rock and boulders. • The vendors are required to upload certain documents, including a cover sheet, bid form, and contractor questionnaire.
