The County of Riverside is seeking proposals from private non-profit and for-profit community organizations to provide Prevention and Early Intervention services, specifically Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), to youth aged 10-15 in the Desert Region. The primary goals of this program are to reduce the duration and harmful effects of trauma, increase resiliency, and develop coping strategies for program participants. The services will be provided in schools, aiming to reduce symptoms resulting from exposure to traumatic experiences and the need for ongoing services within the mental health system.
• The proposed services must be designed to serve the targeted areas and populations identified in the RFP.
• The program will be provided in schools, a natural gathering place for youth and families, and a de-stigmatizing location for mental health services.
• The program aims to increase the youth and families' comfort level in participating in services from staff that are knowledgeable and capable of identifying needs and solutions for youth and their families.
• The RFP addresses the need for early intervention for trauma-related symptoms for youth through the use of an evidence-based practice.
