GOES Data Collection Platforms

The County of Kern - Purchasing department issued a bid quotation request for the purchase of Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) Data Collection Platforms (DCP) that will comprise one Early Flood Warning System. The contract was awarded to Campbell Scientific. The DCP will collect and store data received from a tipping bucket rain gage, battery voltage from the battery which powers the DCP, and internal temperature from a sensor resident on or provided with the DCP. The contract also includes the reconfiguration of existing OmniSat GOES radios to the new RS-232 interface of the new GOES platform. • The contract includes the purchase of new and unused GOES Data Collection Platforms. • The DCP will collect and store data received from a tipping bucket rain gage, battery voltage from the battery which powers the DCP, and internal temperature from a sensor resident on or provided with the DCP. • The contract also includes the reconfiguration of existing OmniSat GOES radios to the new RS-232 interface of the new GOES platform. • The contract was awarded to Campbell Scientific. • The contract includes a warranty for the DCP and other equipment. • The contract includes shipping costs from the vendor to Bakersfield, California. • The contract includes a discount for early payment.
