Notice of Intent to Sole Source: Preventative Maintenance _Leica Biosystems

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service Eastern Lab is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing a full-service maintenance agreement for four Leica instruments used daily by the Pathology Branch for diagnostic histopathology methods. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, and parts for preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on the instruments. The scope of work includes annual preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and compliance with Section 508. • The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price purchase order with a base year and four option years. • The contractor must provide a capability statement including company information, technical capability, lifecycle statement, and past performance. • The contractor must be authorized by Leica Biosystems/Microsystems to perform factory-level maintenance and repairs on the specific models. • The contract duration is expected to be 5 years, with the possibility of extension if parts remain available.
