Design Build for Vertical Conveyance Projects Phases 2 - 4

The County of Orange is soliciting Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms to provide design and construction services for the Vertical Conveyance Project Phases 2 - 4. The project involves replacing escalators and modernizing elevators at John Wayne Airport. The selected respondent will be invited to participate in the next step of the solicitation process, the Request for Proposals (RFP). Key aspects of the project include: • Replacement of remaining 3 escalators • Modernization of all elevators (28 units) throughout the Terminal, Parking Garages, and Ground Transportation Center • Improvement of safety and reliability of existing elevator systems • Enhancement of overall system performance and reliability • Extension of the useful service life of elevator and escalator systems • Upgrade of life-safety features and compliance with current accessibility requirements • Reconditioning of retained equipment to support reliable operation and integration with modernized systems The project is expected to start in Q4 2026, with a construction duration of approximately 8 months for Phase 2, and substantial completion by Summer 2029.
