Testing LiDAR for mapping canopy and surface fuels in Grand Teton

The National Park Service intends to award a single-source justified cooperative agreement for the project "Testing LiDAR for mapping canopy and surface fuels in Grand Teton." The project aims to assess the capability of LiDAR data to characterize spatial and vertical distribution of canopy, understory, and coarse woody fuels in the Northern Rocky Mountains. The recipient will produce a draft fuels map, conduct field validation, and deliver digital map products compatible with Geospatial Fire Modeling Software. The project will also include a peer-reviewed scientific publication and a professional presentation.
