CLEANING AND PAINTING STRUCTURAL STEEL AT THE EASTBOUND BAY BRIDGE (PHASE 1)

The Maryland Transportation Authority is seeking bids for the cleaning and painting of structural steel on select portions of the Eastbound Bay Bridge. The project includes design and installation of painting containment systems, cleaning and painting of structural steel, miscellaneous repairs, and installation of continuous cantilever deck truss pin and hanger auxiliary supports. The project requires a minimum of 18% MBE participation and 1% VSBE participation. The bid deadline is January 14, 2026, and the project is expected to be completed within 730 calendar days. • The project requires a pre-bid meeting and site visit, although attendance is not mandatory. • The bid must include a completed VSBE Utilization Affidavit and a Payment of Employee Health Care Expenses Certification form. • The project requires compliance with Maryland's MBE and VSBE programs, as well as apprenticeship training and investment activities in Iran regulations. • The contractor must provide monthly reports on VSBE participation and maintain records of VSBE subcontractors.
