RFP 77-26 South Station Bus Terminal Cooling Tower Replacement

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking a contractor to replace two Marly NC series cooling towers at the South Station Bus Terminal. The project includes removal and replacement of the existing cooling towers, piping, and wiring, as well as testing and balancing of the system. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and complying with MBTA requirements, including safety and environmental regulations. The project is expected to start on September 15, 2026, and be completed by April 1, 2027. • The contractor will be responsible for all necessary work to disconnect, disassemble, and remove the existing cooling towers. • The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable MBTA Engineering Directives & Guidelines. • The contractor will be responsible for submitting final as-built drawings and operations and maintenance manuals. • The contractor will be required to enter into a license agreement with the MBTA prior to accessing or performing any work on MBTA-owned property. • The contractor will be responsible for maintaining insurance coverage as required by the MBTA.
