TOS No. 305 - ATP 6: SRTS Center City Schools Neighborhood Safety and Climate Resilience Project

The City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Engineering (BOE), Street Improvement Division (SID) is seeking a consultant to provide design and engineering services for the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Center City Schools Neighborhood Safety and Climate Resilience Project. The project aims to improve the safety and comfort of students' walking and cycling experience in the area. The scope of work includes designing and engineering improvements such as curb extensions, pedestrian-activated signals, crosswalks, and bike lanes. The consultant will be required to coordinate with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) and other stakeholders to develop the design and engineering plans. • The project location is a 1.5 square mile area around the Center City Schools in the City of Los Angeles. • The project elements to be designed by the consultant include curb extensions, curb ramps, sidewalks, splitter islands, and pedestrian plazas. • The project also includes the design of bike lanes and bike routes, including a Class IV bike lane with a vegetated buffer. • The consultant will be required to evaluate the existing conditions and propose design solutions that meet the project's safety and climate resilience goals.
