WMHC Laboratory and Blood Transfusion Contract

The Western Maryland Hospital Center is seeking a vendor to provide blood transfusion services and laboratory services. The contract will be for one year, starting from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The contractor will be responsible for providing blood and performing laboratory tests, including routine and STAT tests. The contractor must have a quality assurance program in place and provide ongoing training to Western Maryland Hospital Center staff. The contractor must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to information security and data protection. Some key requirements of the contract include: • Providing daily pick-ups for routine laboratory specimens • Providing on-call STAT coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week • Performing and reporting all test results to Western Maryland Hospital Center within the specified time frame • Providing Western Maryland Hospital Center with a listing of Critical/Panic Values for all laboratory tests available • Notifying Western Maryland Hospital Center of any significant changes in laboratory procedures, supplies, and equipment • Providing ongoing training to Western Maryland Hospital Center staff on the collection and preparation of specimens • Being available for consultation pertaining to laboratory testing results as needed
