Request for Qualifications – General Contractors for Allied Health and Sciences Building Project

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is seeking a general contractor for the construction of the Allied Health and Sciences Building. The project involves building a stand-alone facility with all necessary utility and site work, including a new parking lot and pedestrian pathways. The contractor will be expected to work closely with the design team to deliver the project in a timely and cost-effective manner. The total project cost is estimated at $15 million. The contractor should have experience in Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and fast-track projects, as well as experience with integrating mechanical systems into existing buildings and constructing projects under nationally-recognized sustainable rating systems. • The project requires the contractor to provide construction management services, including estimating, subcontractor selection, project and change order pricing, demolition, schedule control, cost reduction and control, project coordination, and building information modeling (BIM) closeout. • The contractor should have a current maximum bonding capacity and rate, and should provide records of management teams on similar projects with timely completion and high quality workmanship. • The contractor should also provide a statement of diversity in the workforce, if applicable, and a certificate of women-owned or minority-owned business, if applicable.
