Description

The County of Sacramento is seeking a qualified organization to implement a Fatherhood Program, specifically the Dad Brand program, to support fathers during pregnancy and postpartum. The selected organization will be responsible for implementing tasks such as weekly group sessions, bi-monthly community events, quarterly listening sessions, and peer mentoring. The program aims to reduce disparities in birth outcomes, particularly among Black families, by promoting engaged partners during the pregnancy process and bolstering mental, emotional, and physical health. The ideal applicant will have experience working with Black communities and/or fatherhood-focused populations, serving pregnant families or families with children 2 years of age or younger, and implementing fatherhood groups using the Dad Brand curriculum. Key requirements and responsibilities include: • Building and serving a community of 150 unduplicated fathers per fiscal year • Developing additional pregnancy and postpartum curriculum and learning materials for fathers • Providing culturally grounded information related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, and infant care • Collaborating with Sacramento County Maternal Child Adolescent Health (MCAH) programs to align fatherhood engagement with maternal health priorities • Meeting monthly with Sacramento County PEI coordinator and State PEI team representatives • Participating in community advisory board meetings, birth equity collaboratives, and community problem-solving sessions

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000 per year, considering the program's scope and the county's budget for social services. The selected organization will be responsible for implementing various program components, including weekly group sessions, bi-monthly community events, and quarterly listening sessions, which may require significant resources and personnel. Additionally, the program's focus on serving 150 unduplicated fathers per fiscal year and providing individualized support and resources may also impact the overall cost. However, without more specific information on the program's budget and funding, this estimate is based on general assumptions and industry standards.
