STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE LOBBYIST SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR

The City of Port Arthur is seeking a state and federal legislative lobbyist to provide lobbying services, including representation, information, professional advice, research, establishing legislative contacts, and developing and pursuing specific legislation. The lobbyist will work with the City Council to prepare a legislative package and provide regular reports on lobbying efforts. The contract will be for a term of 2 years. Key responsibilities include: • Representing the City of Port Arthur at the Texas State Legislature and U.S. Congress • Performing research on legislative issues and compiling statistical data and reports • Providing information to the City Council to assist in making policy decisions • Communicating with the City Council on legislative issues and initiatives • Meeting with the City Council during the legislative period to maintain an effective working relationship The City is looking for a lobbyist with experience in positive communication with individuals and groups, performing investigative research, and working with state and federal agencies. The lobbyist's company must have been in the business of providing lobbying services to governmental entities for at least 5 years, and primary personnel assigned to the City of Port Arthur must demonstrate 6 years of proven lobbying experience.
