Laboratory Medical Director and Clinical Consultant Services

The State of Maryland’s Deer’s Head Hospital Center is seeking a licensed medical doctor, board‑certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, to serve as the Laboratory Medical Director and Clinical Consultant. The contractor will be responsible for meeting CLIA and Joint Commission requirements, signing off on laboratory manuals, providing 24/7 on‑call coverage, conducting two annual continuing‑education sessions for staff, and performing monthly on‑site visits with the contract monitor. The role is a firm‑fixed‑price, one‑year contract with a maximum value of $100,000 and requires the contractor to hold a valid Maryland medical license and pathology board certification. • Provide full‑time Laboratory Director and Clinical Consultant services at Deer’s Head Hospital (Salisbury, MD) • Ensure compliance with CLIA, Joint Commission, and state regulations for high‑complexity testing • Review, approve, and sign laboratory policies, procedures, and quality‑control documents • Offer 24/7 on‑call clinical consultation with a one‑hour response time • Deliver two continuing‑education programs per year for laboratory staff • Conduct monthly on‑site visits and be available for accreditation inspections • Must not serve as Director for more than five other laboratories • Contract is firm‑fixed‑price, 1‑year term, no option periods, with submission via eMMA.
