MICROWAVE THERAPY SYSTEM

The US Department of Defense is seeking information about a microwave therapy system for the coagulation of soft tissues. The system should have a software-controlled microwave therapy delivery platform, integrated cooling, real-time temperature monitoring, and advanced probe placement functions. The system should also have a user-friendly interface, a 15.6-inch foldable high-resolution color touchscreen, and be capable of integrating with advanced 3D planning and laser guidance software. The proposed performance start date will be on or about 1 July 2026. Some key features of the system include: • Operating frequency of 2.45 GHz ± 50 MHz • Ablation channels that support at least two independent ablation channels • Output power adjustable in 5-Watt increments • Automatic system shutdown if probe temperatures or reflected power exceed established safety limits • Integrated cooling system with two fully integrated peristaltic pumps • Probe assembly characteristics, including antenna profile, available lengths, integrated temperature sensing, and cable management • Advanced clinical workflow features, including needle lock, tract ablation, external temperature monitoring, and system integration
