Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is requesting information from industry to determine the availability and capability of businesses to provide Silicon/Germanium Epitaxial Wafers. The wafers are required for the NIST CHIPS Metrology program, which develops and advances cutting-edge metrology capabilities for the US semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The request includes seven line items with different specifications, including "Thin" Si and SiGe layers on Si, "Thick" doped Si on Si, and Isotopically enriched 28Si on Si. The vendors are expected to provide input on the requirement and the practicability of Firm-Fix pricing for all the listed line items. Some key points to consider: • The wafers are required to have specific compositions, thicknesses, and dopant levels. • The vendors should be able to provide high-quality epitaxial film stacks on silicon wafers. • The contract includes base line items with full wafer specifications and optional line items with configurable parameters. • The deliverables are due within 20 weeks of award or option modification.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this opportunity can be estimated based on the cost of Silicon/Germanium Epitaxial Wafers. The cost of these wafers can vary depending on the specifications, quantity, and quality. Assuming an average cost of $500 to $2,000 per wafer, the total budget for the line items can be estimated as follows: Line Item 0001: 15 wafers, estimated cost: $7,500 to $30,000 Line Item 0002: 15 wafers, estimated cost: $7,500 to $30,000 Line Item 0003: at least 10 wafers, estimated cost: $5,000 to $20,000 Line Item 0004: at least 10 wafers, estimated cost: $5,000 to $20,000 Line Item 0005: at least 10 wafers, estimated cost: $5,000 to $20,000 Line Item 0006: at least 10 wafers, estimated cost: $5,000 to $20,000 Line Item 0007: at least 10 wafers, estimated cost: $5,000 to $20,000 The total estimated budget for all line items can range from $50,000 to $200,000. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget may vary depending on the vendor's pricing and the specific requirements of the contract.
