Design-Build Services for the Terminal Electrical Upgrade Project

The San Francisco International Airport is seeking a design-build services provider for the Terminal Electrical Upgrade Project. The project aims to support the airport's transition to all-electric operations by upgrading terminal electrical infrastructure and airside electrical ground service equipment (eGSE) charging infrastructure. The provider will be responsible for evaluating and upgrading electrical infrastructure, proposing solutions to address system capacity, distribution, and readiness, and performing work in active terminal environments while minimizing impacts on tenants and airport operations. The project will utilize the progressive design-build project delivery method, and a Project Delivery Partners consultant will be selected by the airport through a separate solicitation. Key aspects of the project include: * Upgrading terminal electrical infrastructure to enable tenant kitchen electrification * Upgrading airside eGSE charging infrastructure with software-based monitoring capabilities * Collaborating with the airport and Delivery Partners to define and issue multiple trade subcontracts * Providing design-build services for the project, including design, construction, activation, and closeout * Ensuring compliance with airport rules, regulations, and design standards * Managing risks, procuring and managing trade packages, and collecting field data * Working in an active airport environment while minimizing disruptions
