The US Army is seeking a contractor to provide a small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) drone that meets specific salient characteristics, including a maximum airspeed of 90 miles per hour, an operational range of at least 15 miles, and a flight endurance of 25 minutes or greater on a single battery. The system must also provide an organic Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capability through an integrated day/night camera and infrared sensor. The contractor must provide a ground station that is Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK)-compatible and has a 4+ hour runtime. The proposed aircraft must be listed on the DCMA Blue UAS cleared list. Key features of the system include:
• Integrated ISR capability
• Rapid deployment in under 3 minutes
• Environmental hardening with an enclosed, splash-resistant body
• Modular payload interface with standardized mechanical mounting options
• Command and Control (C2) link via a robust, dual-band, frequency-hopping ExpressLRS (ELRS) data link
• Video link via a 5.8 GHz, 5 Watts analog transmitter with a physical on/off switch for emissions control (EMCON)
• Long Range Kit available to extend operational reach and duration
