The United States Air Force (USAF) is seeking a system capable of addressing the issues posed by Degraded Visual Environments (DVE) for the HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter. The system should provide real-time hazard detection in both enroute and terminal areas, displaying this information clearly on cockpit and cabin displays. The effort will consist of the material solution and all non-recurring engineering required to install a DVE solution on to the HH-60W helicopter, including design, development, testing, integration, procurement, installation, and deployment of the DVES kits.
• The system should function effectively in various DVE conditions, including ambient/artificial conditions such as smoke, smog, snow, night sand/dust, etc. and aircraft-induced conditions such as brownout/whiteout.
• The contract period of performance will consist of a 24-month base period with one ordering period and one option to turn on ordering periods 2-6, establishing a total potential period of performance of eight years.
