Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, intends to award a sole source procurement to Abiomed, Inc. for the maintenance of Abiomed Automated Impella Controller (AIC) consoles. The requirement includes preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, OEM-certified replacement parts, depot-level repairs, loaner equipment, and full technical support. The period of performance is for a base year with four one-year options.
• The Abiomed Impella AIC Console is a proprietary, highly specialized medical device.
• All service, maintenance, calibration, and repairs are restricted exclusively to the original equipment manufacturer.
• The consoles are mission-critical life-support devices that directly enable cardiac procedures requiring temporary mechanical circulatory assistance.
• Any downtime is unacceptable, as uninterrupted operation is essential to protect patient safety and maintain clinical capability.
