Description
The University of Louisville is seeking qualified contractors to replace the existing 350 kW emergency generator at the Ekstrom Library with a new 500 kW diesel generator, including demolition of the old equipment, installation of new transfer switches, conduit, and electrical distribution, and coordination to minimize library downtime. The work is scheduled for summer 2026 and must comply with Kentucky building, fire, and electrical codes, as well as university safety and environmental policies.
• Demolition and removal of the existing generator, fuel tank, exhaust system, and associated electrical gear.
• Construction of a new concrete pad, installation of a 500 kW generator, automatic transfer switches, panelboards, and associated conduit/raceways.
• Full testing, commissioning, training of university staff, and delivery of as‑built documentation and a one‑year warranty.
