Description

The USDA Agricultural Research Service is seeking a single‑source supplier to provide a custom 4 K wheat SNP targeted amplicon primer pool (approximately 4,000 SNP markers) that matches a previously developed Eurofins BioDiagnostics product. The pool must be compatible with Illumina sequencing workflows, deliver higher coverage than prior Ion‑Torrent assays, and be ready for delivery within 60 days after award. The contract will be awarded on a firm‑fixed‑price basis, contingent upon satisfactory technical review of existing test‑plate data. • Provide one primer‑pool (15,000 reactions) identical to the Eurofins‑developed set. • Must meet detailed technical specifications (hexaploid wheat compatibility, Illumina workflow, genotype reporting). • Delivery to USDA‑ARS, Pullman, WA, no later than 60 days post‑award; early delivery accepted. • Award is non‑competitive; any qualified source may submit a quotation, but the award will be made to Eurofins BioDiagnostics if technical criteria are met.

Budget estimate

$120,000 – $180,000

No contract value is disclosed. Comparable custom primer‑pool projects for large‑scale genotyping programs typically range from $100 k to $250 k depending on development, licensing, and production costs. Assuming a single‑source firm‑fixed‑price award for one 15,000‑reaction pool, a reasonable estimate would be roughly $120,000–$180,000.
