The Southern Arizona VA Medical Center is seeking sources capable of providing ferromagnetic detection systems that can address the attached list of DRAFT requirements for multiple VA Southern Arizona Healthcare System. The system must have highly sensitive detection, advanced warning technology, instantaneous threat location pinpointing, and no invasive pat-down required. The system must also have visible and audible alarms, reduced alarm fatigue, and no alarm on door/exit/cross traffic. The equipment must have physical characteristics to enable the government to perform the capabilities, including a brand name or equal equipment that meets or exceeds the physical, functional, and performance of the listed salient characteristics.
• The system must accurately detect small ferromagnetic objects from 1-2 meters the MRI room entrance.
• The system must offer a warning system, alerting personnel at increasing distances as a ferromagnetic threat approaches.
• The system must visually and/or audibly indicate the precise location of the ferromagnetic threat within the detection zone.
• The system must be able to detect ferromagnetic objects without the need for physical contact with the individual.
• The system must have alarms that are clearly visible from both inside and outside the MRI room.
