Assistant Director – Department of Community Resources and Emergency Management

Summary: We are seeking an Assistant Director experienced in emergency management to oversee and coordinate all aspects of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts within our organization. As an Assistant Director, the incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our community, residents, personnel, facilities, and assets during crises and disasters. This position requires a strong background in emergency management, disaster planning, and leadership skills to effectively manage and mitigate risks. Additionally, this employee will be responsible for maintaining a Community Rating System (CRS) to enhance community resilience, facilitate disaster preparedness, provide floodplain management support, offer CPR and AED instruction, manage AEDs, and maintain the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in a ready state. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director/Emergency Manager for the Department of Community Resources and Emergency Management (CREM), but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative.
