Town of Thomaston - RFP - Economic & Community Development Coordinator

The Town of Thomaston seeks a part‑time, contracted Economic and Community Development Coordinator to serve as a liaison between the municipality and its business community, promote the town’s brand, and manage its social media presence. The role includes proactive business outreach, development of marketing and communications materials, coordination of community events, and regular reporting to the Town Manager and Select Board. The contractor will work independently but must align activities with the town’s fiscal calendar and budget constraints. • Business outreach: act as primary contact for local businesses, identify needs, and facilitate connections with municipal resources. • Social media & marketing: manage town accounts, create original content, maintain a communications calendar, and coordinate promotional initiatives. • Community partnership & events: collaborate with the Economic and Community Development Committee, Recreation Department, and other groups to support downtown activities and special events. • Reporting: provide monthly summaries and an annual performance report, attend required meetings, and adhere to a $23,000 annual compensation ceiling.
