5710 - Livestock Pasturing and Farming Opportunity at Redding Regional Airport

The City of Redding, California is seeking proposals for a livestock pasturing and farming opportunity at the Redding Regional Airport. The airport has approximately 554 acres of land available for pasturing livestock and growing agricultural crops. The city is looking for a user who can safely and effectively conduct livestock pasture and agricultural operations on the specified airport property, while providing the best prospective financial return to the city. Key details of the proposal include: * Proposals must be submitted by 3:00 P.M. PT on July 22, 2026 * The city anticipates awarding a five-year lease agreement with a five-year option to extend * Prospective operators must meet and comply with airport security and safety requirements, as well as operate in accordance with all applicable permits and regulations * The scope of work includes growing annual winter dryland crops, maintaining livestock within designated pasture areas, and maintaining existing agricultural infrastructure * Proposals must include a minimum annual rent of $15.00 per acre for pastureland and $25.00 per acre for non-irrigated crop land, with a 3% annual increase rate The city will evaluate proposals based on the following criteria: * Ability to safely and effectively perform the proposed activities * Financial capability to perform the proposed activities * Financial return to the city * Highest and best agricultural and pasture use of the land * Positive references and operational capability * Particular advantages of the proposal, such as geographic proximity or history of operations on airport properties A site visit is optional and will be held on June 23, 2026.
